Design notes
In the first version, results appeared as a long list of blue links, forcing users to scan and click multiple times to get context. Testing showed most people didn’t want ten links they wanted the right answer upfront. I redesigned the page into Apple style cards with contextual snippets. The trade-off was surfacing fewer links immediately, but it cut average time to answer from 1:20 to 0:60 and improved efficiency perception by 40%. Grounded in Nielsen’s efficiency principle and Apple’s clarity guidelines, the change made results feel faster and more useful.
